Quality

Green Owl Toys is very committed to submit only products that complying with the European toy safety regulations and to maintain high level of product quality.  Every toy and game has been specifically selected taking into consideration the following criteria and order:

  • Manufactured within EU
  • Comply with toy regulations
  • Quality certifications
  • Sustainable materials.

The list below shows the most important test certifications that could be found in our products:

A CE Mark must be placed by every manufacturer or first supplier in the Community on their toy to indicate that it has been made in conformity with the essential safety requirements of the directive. It is an enforcement mark (not a sign of quality or safety) and was established to ensure free movement of product throughout the European Union - a sort of passport for toys. It has to appear, along with the first supplier's name and address "in a visible, legible and indelible form" on the toy or its packaging.

Please bear in mind, some products show the letters CE but it is not the true certificate.  Please see the following website for examples of fake CE markings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_mark

The Lion Mark was introduced by The British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) in 1989 to promote high safety standards throughout the toy industry, the bright red and yellow 'Lion Mark' is an easily recognisable icon to help consumers identify toys that have been classified as being safe for children to use.  Whilst the "CE" symbol already has to be used by manufacturers to indicate that their product has been made in accordance with essential safety requirements, The Lion Mark was designed to go further than this - and to act as a recognisable consumer logo denoting safety and quality. Ultimately, The Lion Mark exists to ensure that consumers can be confident that any product bearing the symbol will confirm to good standards of toy safety.

A TUV certified product is one that has passed certain tests carried out by TÜV Rheinland Group for, say, safety and quality. TÜV issues a certificate of the test findings. It certifies the product properties tested and specifies the norms to which they were tested.
For the buyer, that is a great help with the purchasing decision. He is no longer dependent solely on the details supplied by the manufacturer and can rely on a disinterested expert's independent judgment.
That is why more and more organisation are entrusting TÜV Rheinland Group with tests of this kind. Its principals include manufacturers from 75 countries. For more information on the tests carried out please go to the site http://lga.de/tuv/en/products/products_toys.shtml

LGA certificates ensures the influence of the manufacturing process has on the environment on site follow acceptable standards. So, installations which might have an impact on the environment, such as inverted drainage wells or hydraulic systems, were assigned a supervisor and operation instructions. When obtaining materials, environmentally friendly products are preferred. Safety measures, such as a second cycle in between the hydraulic cooling system and well water system, were taken.

LGA is now a partner of TUV providing an even more powerful certificate where the product quality is kept high while keeping  the manufucturing impact on the enviroment minimal. Here are some of their certificates they issue:

The GS mark indicates that it was tested and complies with the minimum requirements of the German Equipment and Product Safety Act (a.k.a. GPSG). The GS Mark, which stands for Geprüfte Sicherheit in German and means Safety Tested, is a licensed mark of the German government and may only be issued by an accredited product safety testing and certification agency.

The GS Mark, although strictly voluntary, is highly regarded by German consumers and manufacturers alike. Products not bearing the mark are nearly impossible to sell in Germany. The GS Mark lends itself as a powerful marketing tool throughout Europe because it symbolizes safety and quality, and instills a strong sense of confidence among consumers.
